Privacy notice
Last updated: 5 November 2026
This notice explains what Methods 2026 Answers collects, why, who handles it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it.
Who this site is for
This site is for people aged 18 and over. It is free, and nothing is sold on it. We collect as little as we can. We never ask for your name, age, date of birth or phone number.
What we collect
When you sign up for emails, on the home page or to get the link to the Exam 2 solutions:
- Your email address. You must give this to sign up.
- Your school. This is optional.
- Your choice about future news. We record whether you ticked the box, and the date and time you signed up.
- How you found us. If you reached the site from one of our ads, posts or emails, we record which one.
When you visit the site:
- Visit statistics. For example, which pages people view, which site sent them, their country and their type of device. We look at these only as totals.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address to deliver the pages to you and to protect the site from attacks.
We do not store the mark you enter in the score check, or your quiz answers, with your email address. Our analytics tools count score-check use without your name or email address (see "Analytics and advertising tools").
Why we collect it
- To email you a link that opens the Exam 2 solutions, to email you when worked solutions and the score check are ready, and to send a short wrap-up after the exams.
- To send you occasional news about free resources for future exams, but only if you ticked the box.
- To count how many people from each school use the site. We only look at totals. We never show or share which school a person named.
- To see which pages help people, to see whether our ads work, and to keep the site working.
Who handles your information
These service providers handle your information for us, under their own security and privacy terms.
- Resend sends our emails and stores our mailing list.
- Vercel hosts the site and runs Vercel Web Analytics.
- Google runs Google Analytics 4 and, while we run Google ads, the Google Ads tag.
- Meta runs the Meta Pixel, only while we run Meta ads.
These companies are based in the United States, and your information may be stored or processed there.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. Apart from the service providers above, we do not give your email address or school to anyone. Google and Meta receive your email address only in scrambled form, to measure our ads, as explained below.
Analytics and advertising tools
We use up to four tools to count visits and to see whether our posts and ads work. The site works the same if you block all four.
When you change the mark in the score check, Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics receive that mark and the Exam 1 difficulty you chose, with nothing that names you. We use these only as totals, for example how many people checked a mark of 30 or more.
- Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and a few actions on the site, such as showing a step of working or opening a "Where students go wrong" note. It records the page, the site that sent you, your country and your type of device and browser. It does not use cookies, and it does not keep anything that recognises you from one day to the next.
- Google Analytics 4 (by Google) counts the same page views and actions, how long pages stay open, and how you reached the site: the site that sent you, and the campaign tags in the link you followed (the
utm_part of a link in one of our posts or emails). It sets cookies so that it can tell a return visit from a new visitor. Google works out your approximate location from your IP address, and Google Analytics does not store that address. We see only totals, such as how many visitors came from each source. Google Analytics keeps the detailed records for 2 months. - Google Ads tag (by Google) loads only on the public site, and only while we run Google ads. It tells Google when a visitor who came from one of our ads signs up for emails. It uses cookies, and Google may connect it with a Google account you are signed in to, under Google's privacy policy.
- Meta Pixel (by Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram) loads only on the public site, and only while we run Meta ads. It tells Meta which pages were viewed and when a visitor signs up for emails. It uses cookies, and Meta may connect it with a Facebook or Instagram account, under Meta's privacy policy.
Your email address and our ads. When we run ads, the Meta Pixel and the Google Ads tag may read the email address you enter in the sign-up form. They send it to Meta or Google in hashed (scrambled) form. Meta and Google compare the scrambled address with the accounts they hold, so they can measure whether our ads led to sign-ups. Google and Meta keep this data under their own terms.
We use the two advertising tags only to measure our ads. We do not use them to build remarketing lists (lists of people to show our ads to again). We have turned off Google's ad personalisation for this site.
How to opt out:
- Turn on your browser's tracking protection, or use an ad blocker, before you sign up. Most of these block all four tools. A blocked Meta Pixel or Google Ads tag cannot read your email address.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or use a private window. This stops Google Analytics, the Google Ads tag and the Meta Pixel from recognising a return visit.
- Install Google's opt-out add-on for Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Change your ad settings at Google (myadcenter.google.com) and in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
How long we keep it
- If you did not tick the box for future news, we delete your email address and school by 31 December 2026.
- If you ticked the box, we keep them until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Vercel keeps visit statistics for the period its service sets.
Unsubscribing and deleting your details
- Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. We stop emailing you as soon as you use it, and always within 5 working days.
- To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, reply to any of our emails. We will reply within 30 days.
Security
Only the people who run Methods 2026 Answers can see the mailing list. We use the security measures our service providers offer, and we limit who has access.
Questions and complaints
Reply to any of our emails. If you are not happy with our reply, or we do not reply within 30 days, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Visit oaic.gov.au or call 1300 363 992.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email address, we will tell you by email first.
